Statement
I use wood as a material embodiment of time and space, working in close dialogue with nature. Through carving and painting, I create a dialogue between painting, printmaking, and the material itself. For me, wood embodies time: its grain, textures, and marks carry traces of growth, transformation, and memory.
I search for a visual language that is, at once, image and not-image; surface and texture; a meeting point of complementary opposites. Through carving and painting, I seek to imprint the complex arrangement of dualities that shape the ephemeral materiality of my what I perceive. The image emerges not as a fixed representation, but as a threshold where contrasting forces coexist and continuously transform one another.
My work explores the space between opposites. Presence and absence, permanence and change, co-produce form and meaning, opening a threshold toward what persists between binary conditions. I am interested in what remains in motion, in the unfinished and the unrepeatable. Through this process, I seek to make visible the fragile and ever-changing nature of perception and life.

Mx Jo Watson is an Argentine non-binary artist. While traveling across Europe in 2019, they developed a distinctive wood-based technique that reconnected them with their roots.
This process gradually took shape and found its fullest expression in Germany, where they later relocated to deepen and expand the possibilities of this evolving practice.
